Merzouga can be visited all year round, but each season offers a very different desert. Here is what to expect so you can choose the right moment for your trip.
Spring (March to May): one of the best times
Warm, pleasant days and cool nights — ideal for camel trekking, 4×4 tours and sandboarding. Spring can bring windy days, so a scarf to protect you from the sand is always useful.
Autumn (September to November): our favorite
After the summer heat, temperatures become comfortable again. The light is soft, the sunsets are spectacular, and the nights are perfect for stargazing.
Winter (December to February): sunny days, cold nights
Days are usually sunny and mild, but nights in the desert can be very cold. It is a wonderful season for clear skies full of stars — just bring warm clothes for the evening. Our tents have temperature control, so you stay comfortable at night.
Summer (June to August): very hot
Daytime temperatures are very high. If you visit in summer, plan activities for early morning and late afternoon, rest during the hottest hours, and enjoy the air-conditioned comfort of your tent.
In short
- Best overall: spring and autumn
- Best for stars: winter, with long, clear nights
- If you come in summer: early mornings, late afternoons and air conditioning
Whatever the season, every tent at Milagro Luxury Camp has temperature control (A/C) to keep you comfortable all year round.
